High Five for Health
The current Major Emphasis Program for Key Club is High Five for Health. This program is specifically designed to educate children about nutrition, wellness, and play. This program not only creates endless possibilities to strengthen the common goal of service, but also allows each Key Club member to develop into a well-rounded individual community leader and lifelong advocate for children's health. Governor's Project
This year, the Kansas District Governer Al Nguyen is supporting PlayPumps International. PlayPumps International adresses the clean drinking water crisis. More than one billion people worldwide do not have access to clean water. While children play on the merry-go-round that is PlayPump, clean water is pumped from underground into a 2,500-liter tank. A simple tap makes it easy for adults and children to draw water.

July/August Newsletter
Al Nguyen - Governor
"Hello everyone! Another month and another issue of The Governings. July was quite an eventful month. International Convention in Florida came and went like a hurricane. I hope that everyone who went had a blast and I know that there are many stories to be retold from Kansas' various misadventures. This upcoming month for district is a crucial one for a couple of reasons.
School is about to start, signaling a brand new Key Club year and a whirlwind of service projects and fundraising. For the district board that means contacting club Presidents and advisors and getting your name and face out. You've already made up your first newsletter and hopefully you've put a little bit about yourself in it. This means you're starting out on a good foot but that doesn't mean you're done. If you haven't already contacted your club presidents, I would highly suggest doing so,. The sooner you begin your relationship with club presidents, the better. If they become accustomed to who you are and why you are contacting them, the easier your job is down the road.
Secondly, this year is running slightly different. Our goal this year is growth and unity. As a district, our focus is to reunite the various clubs within the state and grow as a district. That means extending the helping hand a little further than expected. We're shooting for the starts this year, and hopefully we'll hit one."

June Newsletter
Al Nguyen - Governor
"Hello my friends. We are about to embark on a wonderous adventure that begins this weekend. Some of you already have an idea of what to expect, while the rest of you can't even imagine what will happen. Honestly, I don't even know what to expect. But I do know that it will be a blast. Every board meeting is different, but no matter if you're a veteran or a newbie, it's always fun.
So as you're packing your clothes, grabbing all your contact info, and just trying to envision this weekend, all I can say is come with an open mind and leave with your mind opened."

Governor's Profile
So, most of you must be wondering "Who exactly keeps calling me? And what does she want from me?" Well my friends, I am here to clear the air of ambiguity. My name is Alexandra Nguyen; I mostly go by AL for short. Now with that introduction out of the way, I'll give a simple breakdown of what makes me, well, me. I LOVE music. I love anything that involves music. I love living life to its fullest. I try to make every moment as much fun as possible and will embarrass myself as long as it's hilarious. I've been involved with Key Club since my freshman year. I joined the district board as the Div. 8 Lt. Governor my junior year after attending my second district convention, and am now beginning my senior year as your Governor. I've had many years of enjoyment with my association with Key Club. I've met numerous people who have become dear friends of mine. This year I hope to not only become close to each individual on my board, but also work with great leaders to help build and expand Key Club across the state. Alone, I can achieve only so much, but together we can create something greater. I have high hopes for this year and expect nothing but the best from each and every one of you!
